Coale will jostle for depth wideout slotting with the Steelers.
Injuries derailed the 2012 fifth round pick's rookie season, and he was cut by the Cowboys in August.
With Laurent Robinson now in Jacksonville, Coale has a chance to be the Cowboys’ No. 3 receiver. At 6-0, 201, Coale has only average size and decent speed, but he’s a solid route runner, has great hands and doesn’t shy away from contact over the middle of the field. He’s a good underneath possession option for the Cowboys who have dynamic playmakers in Miles Austin and Dez Bryant on the outside. Of course, Jason Witten is also in the mix, so Coale is likely to see significant targets only if someone gets hurt. Coale has been slow to recover from a broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot though, which will make it tough for him to crack the first team offense to open the season, but he could be a factor later in the year.
