Hardin was cut by the Bears on Friday, ESPN Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Hardin, a third-round selection in 2012, sees his career with the Bears come to a close without ever playing a regular season snap. He sat out all of 2012 with a neck injury and didn't stand out in training camp despite being healthy. A source said that Hardin did suffer a fractured scapula in Thursday's preseason finale, so he could be stashed on injured reserve by the Bears if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

2012
Hardin missed his entire rookie campaign after suffering a neck injury in the preseason and will now have to battle for snaps in the Bears' nickel and dime packages after Chris Conte and Major Wright made noticeable leaps to cement themselves as the Bears' top two safeties. He may see his use primarily as a special teamer.
Hardin has a chance to be big contributor in the Bears secondary in the future, but for now it looks as if he will be relegated to special teams.
