More importantly, the report adds that the 2012 third-rounder is said to have a clean bill of health in advance of the Steelers' OTAs, which begin later this month. It remains to be seen whether or not Spence will emerge on the IDP radar this season, but at the very least, health permitting, it looks like he finally has a chance to bolster the team's inside linebacker corps.

2014

2013

Spence faces stiff competition at linebacker and is not a lock to make the 53-man roster.

2012

Spence is undersized by NFL standards, but his instincts and athleticism give him a chance to overcome that limitation. More importantly, the Steelers are thin at inside linebacker, where only Larry Foote and Stevenson Sylvester are behind Lawrence Timmons. Sylvester is an intriguing player, but Foote is below average, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he loses to both Spence and Sylvester on the depth chart. If Spence comes out as a starter, expect at least 100 tackles.
