Brian Leonard got the start Sunday, but it will likely be his last, after Rainey's shocking performance against the Falcons. Almost every statistical output was a season-high and there doesn't appear to be any reason why Rainey wouldn't be the Bucs' starting tailback moving forward. His touchdowns on the ground came on rushes of 43 and three yards, showing his ability to break out a long run and punch home a close score, and his touchdown catch proved he's a capable participant in the passing game as well. He will look to maintain his hold on the Bucs' backfield in Week 12 at Detroit.
Working as the Buccaneers' No. 2 running back, Rainey carried eight times for 45 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 22-19 win over the Dolphins.

2013

Rainey was active a mere three times before a knee injury sidelined him for the remainder of his rookie season in 2012. With injuries to the Browns' backfield, he'll supply depth to the RB corps.

2012

Rainey is competing with Anthony Allen, Damien Berry, and Bernard Pierce for the No. 2 running back job in Baltimore. He signed with Baltimore after going undrafted and could make the team as the No. 3 running back even if he doesn't win the battle to backup Ray Rice.
