RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Jordan Hill.
Few Seahawks face as big a season as Hill, a promising but injury prone defensive tackle in the last year of his contract. He is slated to replace Brandon Mebane this season and could be force on the interior as a pass rusher (5.5 sacks in 13 games in 2014). But health is paramount, as he's played 27 games in three seasons. If healthy, he could be headed for a decent payday, though probably not with the Seahawks who drafted DT's Jarran Reed and Quinton Jefferson this year. If he is injured again, one of the two rookies could push him out of the way.
A third-round pick in 2013, Hill was limited to four games as a rookie because of injuries. It took him much of the last year to find his footing, but in the second half of the season he blossomed, posting 5.5 sacks in the final six games. A Week 17 injury, though, kept him out of the playoffs. He could challenge for a starting job this season, but even if he comes off the bench, he'll see a lot of playing time as Seattle rotates its D-Line to keep players fresh. Health will be the biggest factor.
A biceps injury cost Hill 12 games last season. He has an opportunity to earn a DL rotation spot this season after the Seahawks lost three linemen in free agency. The Seahawks are counting on him to step up his game.
