Commings didn't do much in his rookie season after breaking his left collarbone during the first day of camp last summer. Now healthy, the 2013 fifth-rounder, who can also play cornerback, enters camp with an opportunity to compete for a free safety role in the team's defense.
Commings, the team's fifth round draft choice, 134th overall, will compete for a reserve cornerback spot behind Brandon Flowers, Sean Smith and Dunta Robinson. His excellent size and 4.41 speed could help him push for playing time if he can sharpen his footwork and improve his awareness in zone coverage.
