Gaffney was drafted in the sixth round out of Stanford, after rushing for 1,709 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. At 5-11, 220, he figures to fit in well with the Panthers' power running game, although proven backs like DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Mike Tolbert should consume the bulk of Carolina's carries. Additionally, with Stanford on the quarter system, Gaffney will be forced to miss some voluntary offseason workouts until he completes classes.
The Panthers selected Gaffney in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, 204th overall.
