Lynch was cut by the Bears on Friday, ESPN.com's Michael C. Wright reports.
ANALYSIS
The Chicago native impressed the Bears' coaching staff with his transition from quarterback to running back early in camp, but he never had a realistic shot at making the 53-man roster given his lack of experience at the new position. There's still a chance the Bears could stash him on their practice squad as a developmental prospect, even after he averaged just 3.2 yards per carry in the preseason.

2014 Fantasy Outlook
Following a record-setting career at Northern Illinois that included first-team All-American honors as a senior, Lynch wasn't selected in May's draft, largely due to concerns that the run-based offense he ran in college wouldn't allow him to play quarterback at the next level. The Bears quickly signed the Chicago native as an undrafted free agent, with Lynch committing to a position change to running back. The athletic Lynch has reportedly adapted to the new role well during the Bears' offseason minicamp, but was cut in training camp after averaging an underwhelming 3.2 yards on 13 carries. He could still land an opportunity somewhere on a different team's practice squad, where he'd be able to hone his development at the new position.
