Closer Watch
Tigers -- With their usual ninth-inning man, Jose Valverde, out with a bad back, Joaquin Beniot stepped into the closers role Sunday against the White Sox. Benoit not only converted the save, he did so in style by having a perfect inning. There is no doubt that Benoit will continue to be used in any save situation where Valverde isn't available.

Royals -- Aaron Crow pitched two perfect innings against the Twins Saturday to get his second save of the season. After pitching with only a two-run lead in the top of the eighth inning, the Royals put up another two runs in the bottom half of the frame to put meaning that the only person that could receive the save for the Royals would be Crow. There is no indication that Crow has taken over the ninth-inning spot from Jonathan Broxton, so this save may just have to amount to Ned Yost giving Crow the chance to get a save in what wasn't a normal save situation.

Other Recent Recommendations:
Lorenzo Cain, CF, KC -- Cain came out of the Royals spring training as the teams starting center fielder but only made five appearances before landing on the disabled list. A three-month-plus stint getting healthy was well worth it based off the ten-run stretch Cain has had since returning by racked up two home runs, three doubles, and ten RBI. Cain was once a highly-rated prospect and was even part of the deal that saw Zach Greinke leave the Royals for the Brewers, so the Royals management will hope that he stays healthy and continues to produce like this for the rest of the season.
