Closer Watch

Arizona – Addison Reed is still officially the D-Back's closer, although allowing six earned runs over his last nine innings pitched will make a manager take notice. If you own Reed you need to have a backup plan.

Chicago Cubs – Neil Ramirez hasn't closed out a game since June 15.

Houston – Chad Qualls has fantastic pitching ratios this season (1.99 ERA and 1.11 WHIP), but has not locked down a game for the save since June 20.

Los Angeles Dodgers – Kenley Jansen has nine saves in his last 10 save opportunities and remains one of the better closers in the league.

Recommended Pickup

Drew Stubbs, OF, COL – Let's get it straight: Stubbs is not a .294 hitter. It's nice to see him going so well with the bat as he's gone 7-for-20 with three homers, five runs and five RBI over his last five games played. Expect the batting average to dip for Stubbs as the season progresses and for his at-bat totals to slow in general with Carlos Gonzalez returning to action soon. Even with Car-Go due back soon, Stubbs offers a decent power bat in deeper leagues with his 20-homer capability over the season. If you need a bench roster spot with some power don't hesitate to snag the Rockies outfielder. Stubbs should see a good amount of time even if he is coming off the bench most games as a fourth outfielder down the line.

Other Recent Recommendations :Brad Boxberger, Stephen Vogt, David Freese, Yan Gomes, Jeff Locke and Kolten Wong.
