Will spend most of his time on the Senior Tour and we do not expect Lehman to be a factor on the PGA Tour in 2010.
What exactly does Tom Lehman have left in the tank? His seasons are basically one or two good runs, and a bunch of missed cuts in between. You need look no further than the putter to explain this pattern. Lehman is among the worst putters on tour, or at least he has been for the past couple years. The question is, can he improve upon that at his age? Putting rarely gets better as you get older, so it's not likely.
Lehman still has some game, but the ceiling is pretty evident. He's good for a couple top-5s each season, but not much more. Last season he hit a hot streak early and finished second at The Players, but did nothing the rest of the season. That's understandable as he had Ryder Cup duties that most likely were distracting him. But let's face it; he's not getting any younger. The main reason for the slide in his game has been the putter, and as most of you know, the putter rarely gets better with age.
Lehman had a nice year last year but he only played in 20 events. The year before he only teed it up 19 times. You can bet with the Ryder Cup in September his schedule will be even more limited. Even if it's not, you can bet he'll have his mind on the Ryder Cup and not his game as September approaches. Lehman might start the year well, but as the Ryder Cup talk starts to heat up, his game will most likely take a hit.
