A sixth-round pick from 2003 and an AHL journeyman, Bagnall will serve as a veteran leader for Rochester and a depth defenseman for the Sabres. The 30-year-old has appeared in two NHL and 382 AHL games in his career. The left-shooting stay-at-home defenseman recorded six assists in 51 games with Rochester and added 88 penalty minutes. Barring a litany of injuries or an emergency, Bagnall will likely stay in Rochester for the entire season.
Bagnall signed a two-year deal in the offseason and will head to the Sabres’ AHL affiliate in Rochester to provide depth on the blue line. With 382 AHL games under his belt, he will undoubtedly be a mentor to the plethora of defense prospects in the Sabres’ system.
Bagnall is a depth defender for Minnesota who appeared in just two NHL games this past season. It's likely that he'll at least be a part of the team's short-term plans after signing a two-year contract in July of 2011.
The 6-foot-3 defenseman will be making fought his way through the preseason to make the Minnesota roster. Signed as a free agent, Bragnall isn't a flashy player. He won't score you points because he's too busy doing the dirty work on the ice. The 26-year-old knows how lucky he is to be on the team, so expect him to play hard every night. Unfortunately, you don't get fantasy points for playing with heart.
Bagnall hasn't done much in his pro career since being a Hobey Baker finalist, netting just six points in 79 games for the Kings' AHL affiliate last season. The Kings have a host of talented blue liners coming up the system so Bagnall will need a change of scenery to have much of a career.
Bagnall signed on with the Kings after failing to agree on a contract with the Panthers. The Kings have a shaky blueline but Bagnall figures to spend most of the season in the minors.
The Kings signed him in August after he became a free agent when the Panthers did not pick up his contract. He was an Hobey Baker finalist while at St. Lawrence. He is considered a good prospect, but was assigned to Manchester in September.
