ANALYSIS
Stefanovich hasn't advanced to the minors to this point, but he has been highly productive in the QMJHL over the past three years. It's not clear whether Dallas has any immediate plans for him.

After a stellar QMJHL career, Stefanovich returned to his native Russia after just a handful of games in the AHL. The odds of him ever returning to North America to continue along the path to the NHL are remote at best.
Come here, go away. Stefanovich looks great on paper but he has never really put everything together. He can snipe but he's a little soft. He's smart and can skate, but his acceleration is a bit sketchy. He profiles as a power-play specialist in the NHL because he's not much in his own zone. But the Leafs need scoring and that's something he can do. They may move him quickly; think 2011-12.
Stefanovich exploded in the Q last season. But don't be fooled -- he still projects as a power-play specialist with slow feet and vulnerabilities everywhere but below the hash marks in the offensive zone. But that's on the ice and in fantasy, guys like him have considerable value because of his multi-categorical contributions. Put him in the last spot on your minor roster -- he's a risk but he could also be a point-per-game sniper.
Stefanovich put up 66 points in 62 games last year (his draft year) in the Q. Now, that number sounds OK but really isn't stellar considering the pure offensive nature of that league. He needs to show us he can catapult his game this year in the Q. And then, maybe then, he'll be worth a future pick some day.
