Carl Klingberg

Last season was Klingberg’s best as a professional, as the 23-year-old tallied career-high 22 goals and 21 assists for AHL St. John’s. He also earned a three-game appointment to the Jets in the second half, recording his first career NHL goal during that time. The former second-round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft re-signed with Winnipeg on a one-year, two-way contract in July, but it doesn’t appear the parent club has any major plans for him to take on a greater role anytime soon. He’ll likely shuttle back and forth between the Jets and St. John’s during the upcoming season as injuries inevitably open up a temporary spot with the NHL squad, with Klingberg doubtful to receive sustained look in a top-six role at any point.
