Arnold will not take the ice for Saturday's exhibition contest against the Canucks, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Arnold was listed on the potential game roster, but spent Friday in a dental chair getting his grill worked on, so his absence isn't a huge surprise. Arnold is a long shot to secure an Opening Night roster spot with the Flames in camp, so Saturday's absence shouldn't have much effect on his chances of doing so.

Arnold's first season out of college went fairly well, as he tallied 15 goals and 23 assists in 61 games with AHL Adirondack. He has had success at every level thus far, and there's no reason to think why Arnold can't excel at the NHL level in time. That being said, Calgary has a host of young, talented forwards, and Arnold has quite a few people ahead of him on the depth chart at center. He will likely spend the majority of 2015-16 with the Flames' new AHL affiliate in Stockton barring injury.
Arnold doesn't have the hype of fellow Boston College alum and teammate Johnny Gaudreau, but he still recorded 53 points in 40 games in his senior season. He has an outside shot at making the Flames in the fall, but it is more likely he will begin the season in AHL Adirondack.
Arnold will begin his junior year at Boston College in the fall after tallying 36 points in 42 games in 2011-12.
A fourth-round pick in 2010, Arnold played at Boston College during the 2010-11 season, posting 20 points in 39 games during his freshman season. He's best viewed as organizational depth at this juncture.
In this year's draft, Arnold was taken by Calgary in the fourth round (No. 108 overall). With Arnold, the Flames snagged a defensively responsible forward who can send his share of skaters into the boards. He's in the very early stages of his development and will look to impress with Boston College in the 2010-11 season.
