Roussin was selected 50th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Roussin, who was drafted last season by Florida but opted back in the draft, had the privilege of being Sidney Crosby's linemate at Rimouski of the QMJHL. He is a natural scorer who needs to work harder on his skating and defensive game. The flip side to playing with Crosby is that Roussin has to prove that his gaudy stats weren't just generated because he was on Crosby's line (think Rob Brown with Mario in Pittsburgh). He has drawn some comparisons to Luc Robitaille, another high-scoring winger with skating deficiencies, so the Kings may be the perfect place for him.

Roussin will start the season of Reading in the ECHL. Roussin is going in reverse in the Kings system.
He had another great season in junior hockey last year, and it's hard to say what the new management wants to do with Roussin. He may get a long look at camp, but ultimately be sent to the minors this season.
He was lucky enough to play on the same line as Sidney Crosby in junior hockey, but now he has the pressure of living up to those numbers. Roussin most likely will not make the team and be returned to his junior team or sent to an affiliate team.
