CPhiladelphia Flyers  Free Agent
August 14, 2014
Powe signed an AHL contract with Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Tim Riday of CSNPhilly.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Flyers organization has plenty of familiarity with Powe, who appeared in 204 games with the NHL club from 2008 to 2011, amassing 22 goals and 21 assists. Powe could see time on the Flyers' checking line at some point this year if the team needs reinforcements from the minors.

2010
With one year and $1 million remaining on his two-year contract with the Rangers, Powe was placed on waivers. There were no takers. The 5-year NHL veteran is expected to open the year with Connecticut (AHL). He has little or none fantasy value.
The Wild traded for Powe (from Philadelphia) this past offseason, and quickly signed him to a three-year deal. Powe is limited in terms of what he can do with the puck, but he should be able to improve Minnesota's penalty-killing unit that has been mediocre the past couple of seasons. As a role player, Powe will not be coveted in most fantasy leagues in 2011-12.
Powe's greatest strength keeps him mostly fantasy irrelevant - his penalty-kill ability. He's not good for many points, but does serve his purpose for the Flyers, though that likely won't support many fantasy rosters. Look for him to surpass double-digit points, but not go too far past that.
