Wandell continues to tease with good skating and occasional playmaking ability, only to see little-to-no impact on the scoresheet. He's the likely second line center during Derek Roy's absence during the first month of the season, but will eventually slide back to his more typical third-line role.
Wandell has been slow to regain his form and speed he showed prior to a knee injury a year back, and will have to battle some recent roster additions (Tomas Vincour, Jacob Dowell, and Vern Fiddler) for ice time this season. He projects as a fourth-line center when he plays.
A knee injury cut short Wandell's season just as he was starting to find his stride on Dallas' third line. He's expected to start the year as Dallas' fourth center, and won't see any time on the power play, so his productive opportunities will be limited as a result. There's 10-goal upside here in a full season.
Wandell didn't look out of place in a few games with Dallas, though he spent most of the season playing in his native Sweeden after a season in North America the year prior didn't go very well. He'd be a longshot to make the team, and projects as a depth player.
