Rai, who missed the entire 2010-11 season with a back injury, is taking part in the Young Stars Tournament this week, the Canucks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rai has looked good in his first two contests, even netting a goal in his second game. The 2008 fifth-round pick has had success at the WHL level, but he'll need to stay healthy and prove his worth in the AHL before getting a legit look from the Canucks.

After missing the entire 2010-11 season due to a back injury, Rai was able to eventually return and make his ECHL debut last year, finishing with six points (2 G, 4 A) in 24 games for Kalamazoo. With the back injury behind him, and the rust hopefully shaken off, Rai will have the chance to start reclaiming his status as an intruiging prospect this year. He possesses elite speed but will need to flash some of the scoring potential he showed in the WHL before the Canucks give him a legitimate look.
Rai sat out the 2010-11 season with lingering back problems. The 22-year-old forward dominated the WHL for four seasons, finishing with 218 points (91 G, 127 A) in 238 games, but he'll have to prove that success carries over to the ECHL and AHL before getting a shot with the Canucks.
