The league informed the Devils Tuesday that Mogilny (hip) can officially be placed on the long-term injury exception list, the Associated Press reports.
The Devils may be able to get Mogilny's salary off the books for the upcoming season as he is no longer able to play due to a chronic hip injury, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
A league source has noted that the Devils have yet to apply for long-term injury status on Mogilny (hip) to get his $3.5 million salary off the cap for the approaching season, the Bergen Record.
