RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014-15

There was no outlook written for Sean Burke.

2006-07

Grandpa is as injury prone as always and will be hard pressed to even win the backup spot for the Bolts this year. It's really too bad -- his talent was true but injuries held him back almost every year.

2005-06

Simply put, Burke's early career was a paradox. His reputation was always way better than his performance truly showed. And then, like a fine bottle of single malt, Burke pulled it all together in his 13th and 14th NHL seasons (2000-01 and 2001-02). However, he has since battled some significant injuries and at 36, his best years are behind him. Roll the dice at your own peril as we don't think he'll necessarily earn number one playing time in Tampa Bay. Think possible platoon with John Grahame and adjust your expectations accordingly.
