The Canadiens re-signed Biron to a one-year deal on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
He actually showed some signs of waking up from his seemingly perpetual state of underachieving last season, registering 39 points in 77 games. The dark cloud behind this silver lining is that those are his AHL numbers, and he's not a likely candidate for an NHL-level breakout any time soon.

Not in Montreal organization any longer.
Biron is currently playing in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (Germany). He's minor league fodder at the moment.
Maybe the Sharks can whisper the right sugar to this perennial disappointment, but we're not holding our breath. The Capitals couldn't wait to call Biron a cab at the end of 2005-06.
Biron was an amnesty casualty of the Panthers, and the Caps jumped to snap up the 6-foot-6 defenseman. Biron will serve as a top-four blueliner for Washington and could provide some offensive punch on the power play -- he tallied 13 points in 57 games in 2003-04 -- but will probably suffer in the plus-minus department.
