Hamel will start the year in Binghamton of the AHL and will likely play there all season unless a rash of injuries occur with the big club. In 63 games with the B-Sens last year, he had 25 goals and 25 assists.

Hamel lead the 2007-08 Binghamton Senators team in goals and points with 32 and 55 respectively. Expect him to do it again this year as he is not in the future plans of the big club.

If Hamel has a strong preseason camp, he may have a shot to start the year with the Senators as his offensive flair cannot be denied. That being said, Hamel has little fantasy value at this point, and will most likely spend most of the 2006-07 year down on the farm.
