Past Fantasy Outlooks
DiSalvatore is under contract with the Wild, yet he's primarily a minor league journeyman, having appeared in just five NHL games (with the Blues) since hearing his name called by the Sharks in the fourth round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. As a result, we wouldn't expect him to suddenly ascend from AHL Houston, Minnesota's minor league affiliate, anytime soon.
DiSalvatore is an NHL journeyman, having signed with his fourth team in the last four seasons. The 29-year-old has yet to make any impact in an NHL game. However, the LW has had success in the minor leagues. He was the 1999 EJHL MVP, as well as a First Team All-Star. More likely than not, DiSalvatore will play this season down in the minors.
Led Lowell in scoring last season with 20 goals and 53 points to go with a minus-15 rating. The Devils are fairly set with their scoring lines, so it's unlikely the DiSalvatore will see NHL action this season.
Last season, Jon DiSalvatore played in the AHL with the Peoria Rivermen. In 72 games, he was 22-45-67 with a plus 2 rating. Solid numbers for the AHL game but he has only played five games in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues. It is unknown if his success in the AHL can be replicated in the NHL. With the current staff of players on the Coyotes, he might be able to fill a spot on the roster, or he might see time with the Coyotes AHL affiliate San Antonio Rampage.
Scored 67 points in 72 games last season for the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL. Played in five games for Blues and did not register a point. Not expected to play in the NHL this season unless the Blues run into serious injury trouble and need minor league reinforcements. DiSalvatore should not be on your fantasy radar right now.
