RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
Colliton will once again start the season in the AHL with Bridgeport, where he notched 27 points in 41 games. He will more than likely remain in the AHL as the Isles have built up enough depth at the forward position that they will look elsewhere for help, even when injuries occur.
Colliton will play for Rogle BK (Swedish Elite League), but the Islanders retained his rights with a qualifying offer in the offseason.
Colliton has not done much to impress the Isles the last two seasons, whether with the big club or with Bridgeport. Unless there's a vast improvement to his game this year, he will only see time on Long Island when the injury bug bites.
Not a big-time scorer, Colliton projects to be a solid, two-way forward. Barring an outstanding camp, expect him to call Bridgeport home in 2007-08.
Colliton appeared in 19 games with the Isles last season, scoring two points. He will once again primarily call Bridgeport of the AHL home in 2006-07.
Colliton has some offensive skill to go along with his leadership capabilites. While not labeled injury prone, he has been bit by the injury bug a couple of times the last few years, which is something to keep an eye on. A solid prospect, can be used in any situation on the ice.
