Arvedson has announced his retirement from hockey, reports the Swedish newspaper Nya Wermlands-Tidningen.
ANALYSIS
He had signed to play with Färjestad of the Swedish Elite League this year but his back problems returned late in the summer. Doctors told him he would miss at least two months and perhaps the entire season as a result of the problem, so he chose to move into coaching and development instead of enduring the rigors of continued rehab.
