RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Raitis Ivanans.
Ivanans was put on waivers by Calgary twice in 2011-12, and will bring his enforcer mentality to AHL Abbotsford for 2012-13.
Ivanans played one NHL game last season, missing the year with post-concussion syndrome symptoms. There's no sign, late in the summer, if Ivanans is recovered from his concussion. Should he play this season, he'll offer a physical presence on the checking line.
He'll goon it up if you need PIMs but that's all he brings to the table. He's topped 130 PIMs in each of his three NHL seasons with the Kings and figures to do so again if he's a regular in the Kings' lineup.
Ivanans' only fantasy impact comes from his goon points. If you're in a league that counts PIMs, Ivanans is worth a look (134 PIMs last season) but otherwise the big Latvian offers nothing of fantasy relevance.
A rugged left winger who will give you more penalty minutes than points. Had 140 penalty minutes last season as opposed to four goals and four assists. Was acquired from Montreal last season and has a good shot of making the Kings roster this season.
May get a look at camp, but most likely will play in the AHL this season.
