White was included in the four-player trade between the Canucks and Sharks on Friday, the San Jose Mercury News reports. Vancouver sent White and Daniel Rahimi to San Jose in exchange for Christian Ehrhoff and Brad Lukovich.
ANALYSIS
After being selected in the first round of the 2007 draft by Vancouver, White has disappointed in college hockey at the University of Minnesota. He's set to return to the Golden Gophers for another season, so White is likely a couple of seasons away from being on the radar in San Jose.

White, a former first-round pick of the Canucks, failed to live up to his top billing at the University of Minnesota. In four seasons (147 games) with the Golden Gophers, the Minnesota native recorded only totaled 27 goals and 26 helpers. Still, at 22 years old, White has time to improve and ascend toward the professional ranks.
White underwhelmed in three seasons at the University of Minnesota; he failed to reach double-digits goal or assist totals in any of those campaigns at the collegiate level. In August of 2009, he was shipped from Vancouver (along with Daniel Rahimi) in exchange for Christian Ehrhoff and Brad Lukovich. Unfortunately for White, the Sharks are very deep at the forward position, so his chances of making the roster are slim. However, he could still be a worthwhile project in Team Teal's minor-league system.
White moved from Vancouver to San Jose in a four-player offseason deal. However, before he can reach the NHL, he must prove his worth at the collegiate level playing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The Canucks' 2007 first-round draft choice, White is currently playing for the Minnesota Gophers. He will return to school for his sophomore season and isn't expected to have an impact with the Canucks for a few years.
