Saccetti was selected 50th overall by the Dallas Stars at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
ANALYSIS
Saccetti absolutely blew away the competition in the USHL this past season. His 38 goals and 90 points in just 25 games made him an offensive star, and his creativity was pretty much unrivaled in that league. But he's small (5-11 and 190 pounds) and right now, he doesn't really know where his own zone is. We all know how that will fly in a system like the Stars'. He could be a home run ball or a dud.

Saccetti has played four years at the University of Minnesota, totalling just 11 points combined in his past two seasons after being a second-round pick of the Stars back in 2007. The Stars replenished their system-wide center depth in the 2011 draft, partly because prior high draft picks like Saccetti didn't pan out as expected.
Saccetti has failed to live up to the hype following a successful junior career in the USHL, scoring just eight goals in two seasons at the University of Minnesota.
Saccetti began his collegiate career with the Golden Gophers in 2008-09, and will continue playing there as a Sophomore in 2009-10. He netted three goals and seven points with the Gophers as a freshmen.
Will spend the year in junior hockey following a 51-point season in the USHL in 2007-08.
Selected in the second round of the 2007 draft, Sacchetti will be making his professional debut this season. It'll be a year or two before we see if his skill in his USHL days will translate to the NHL.
Saccetti absolutely blew away the competition in the USHL in 2006-2007. With 38 goals and 90 points in just 25 games, he was almost unrivalled in that league. But he's small (5-11 and 190 pounds) and right now, he doesn't really know where his own zone is. We all know how that will fly in a system like the Stars'. He could be a home run ball or a dud.
