ANALYSIS
Bashkirov brings a truckload of grit to the rink every game and that made him a real fan favorite in the QMJHL. He does have some decent offensive upside -- his shot arsenal is pretty impressive -- but his future lies on the third line. If he was picked by a lesser organization, he'd be in the NHL in a couple years. In Ottawa, he'll spend a lot of time developing in the minors.

Bashkirov has played in the Russia minors for the past three seasons, so if he does finally make the jump to America, it's unlikely he will see NHL ice time in 2013-14.
Bashkirov has nice offensive skills, but won't likely ever make the jump to North America at the pro level. He'll spend the 2010-11 season playing in the KHL.
Bashkirov will play for Lada Togliatti of the KHL this year and is not expected to make his way back to North America for the foreseeable future. In two games with Lada Togliatti last season, Bashkirov did not register a point.
Ruslan will spend the 2008-09 season playing in the Russian KHL league with HK Atlant Moscovskaya Oblast.
Bashkirov will play another year for the Quebec Ramparts of the QMJHL. He should post solid numbers playing on the number one line for the Ramparts.
Gritty with a great shot are the hallmarks of this half of the Bashkirov twins. Ruslan is the more talented of the brothers but his future lies as a third-line agitator.
