Stapleton managed just seven points in 45 games with the Thrashers last season. He is a fringe player with limited NHL experience and will have to fight hard to maintain consistent playing time in the NHL for the majority of his career. With that said, he is not worth fantasy consideration.
Stapleton returns from Finland where he tallied 62 points, including 29 goals, in 55 games. He enjoyed being a big fish in a small pond last year. But we doubt very much he'll replicate that as a teensy fish in an NHL ocean this time round. He will likely be destined for a year in the AHL.
