The Capitals acquired Paquette and a fourth-round pick in 2012 from Winnipeg on Friday in exchange for forward Eric Fehr, CSNwashington.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Paquette is a tough guy plain and simple and is just 20 years old, so at some point he might be brought up to protect some of Washington's expensive items. He really isn't close to the NHL right now, however, and he doesn't offer much scoring potential. This was more of a cap move for Washington.

This player will have no fantasy value in 2013-14 and can be ignored in all formats.
Paquette is a rugged winger who was acquired from Winnipeg in the Eric Fehr trade. There is no reason to believe he will be in the NHL this season, unless it is to be an enforcer against certain opponents. At 21 he has plenty of time to get better, but he has very little experience at the AHL level. He did have some success in the QMJHL, but the AHL is a whole other ballpark.
Exhibiting a rare combination of scoring touch and grit in the QMJHL last season, Paquette managed 36 goals and 29 assists along with 136 PIMs. The Thrashers like his promise and signed Paquette to an entry-level contract this past May. Overall, Paquette’s play has matured, and he will continue to grow in the 2010-2011 season. He should spend most of the 2010-11 season in the American Hockey League however so scratch him from your draft list.
