RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Bryan Rodney.
Rodney is a depth AHL defenseman who was only able to play for Edmonton last season due to an emergency. He'll be toiling in the AHL again this year and at 28, he has likely seen most of his NHL opportunities pass him by.
Rodney is a late bloomer of sorts, still waiting for a more stable role in the pros at the age of 26. For the past two seasons, Rodney has split time between the minors and the parent club Hurricanes. Expect more of the same in 2010-11, as he will operate under a two-year, two-way contract for the second consecutive year.
Rodney signed a one-year, two-way contract in July 2009. His AHL numbers with Albany in 2008-09 were impressive: 36 points (3G, 33A) in 58 games; production that has put him on the fast track towards the NHL.
