RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2016-17

There was no outlook written for Jamie Devane.

2012-13

Devane is a monstrous heavyweight (6-5) who will begin his pro career in 2012-13. His future lies as an enforcer type who might chip in an occasional goal simply because of his size. His NHL career, if it happens, is a long way off.

2011-12

Devane is a Brian Burke kind of guy -- big and truculent with or without skill. In Devane’s case, the skill thing lies somewhere in the lower-middle half of the continuum. He’s more than just a pugilist but way less than a power forward. At his career apex, he might be a third-line winger for a short while but that won’t come for years. He’ll play in the minors this season while he waits for an opening on the fourth line.

2010-11

Devane is a monster (6-4 and 212) who loves to hit. But unfortunately, his wheels will require a lifelong commitment to power skating to even become remotely passable. He's a classic north-south player who may some day earn minimum wage and about six minutes of ice a night. And in those minutes, he'll bring you sin bin points. Don't worry about him until he actually ever earns an NHL job.
