RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Stefan Della Rovere.
Nothing changed for Della Rovere in 2010-11. He's still a fourth-line grinder who makes his mark on a game by agitating. He had a couple of stints with the Blues, picking up 11 penalty minutes in seven games. In theory, he'll be competing for one, maybe two, open forward spots, and it will be a matter of what the team is looking for from its 13th and 14th forwards.
Della Rovere looks like a younger version of D.J. King, the guy the Blues traded to Washington to get him, only with a bit more scoring touch. Della Rovere is a physical player, whose penalty minutes jump out from his resume, and has yet to play a full season in the AHL. After a decent year for the Barrie Colts in the junior circuit, the 20-year-old Della Rovere will try to show a new organization that he's more than a hitter. The Blues like him enough to have him competing in the 2010 Prospects Tournament in Traverse City (Mich.).
