Fallstrom will return to Sweden, Mark Divver of The Providence Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
A call-up to the NHL was not on the horizon for Fallstrom, so he decided to head home to Sweden for the time being. The Bruins placed him on release waivers, so he will be free to sign with any team if he attempts to return to the NHL.

Fallstrom, who missed two months last season with a shoulder injury, was limited to eight points in 28 games with AHL Providence. He’ll need to stay healthy and produce at the AHL level this coming season in order to find himself on the B’s call-up radar.
Fallstrom, whose draft rights were acquired by Boston from Minnesota in the Chuck Kobasew deal back in October 2009, followed up his college career at Harvard by notching five points in 10 games for AHL Providence this past season. He’s not baked yet, but Fallstrom could eventually stick with the B’s as a checking forward.

The Swedish prospect attends Harvard so we know that he has a good head on his shoulders, but his skating is still a work in progress.
The Harvard product is right wing prospect in a deep Boston organization.
