RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014-15

There was no outlook written for Mark Dekanich.

2011-12

Rather than signing a veteran backup for Steve Mason, the Blue Jackets thought outside the box (outside the crease?) and scooped up AHL star Dekanich from the Predators. Pekka Rinne's presence didn't give him any chance to establish himself in Nashville, but if Mason has another meltdown Dekanich will get a golden opportunity to show what he can do in the NHL. He should be right near the top of your list of goaltending sleepers this season.

2010-11

Dekanich signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Predators in August and heads into training camp as the leading candidate for the #2 goalie spot behind Pekka Rinne this season. However, according to Preds GM David Poile, the signing doesn’t guarantee him the job, and that the organization is keeping its options open. If the team has the opportunity to pick up a proven veteran goalie as their #2 guy, they will likely do so and return Dekanich to the minors. Bottom line - from a fantasy perspective, Dekanich does not have much to offer.
