Joins top squad for finale
GFlorida Panthers  Minors
April 9, 2017
Brittain was summoned from the team's AHL Springfield affiliate Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Brittain will join the club on the last day of the regular season, potentially serving as a backup for Sunday's contest with one of the other two netminders sitting. James Reimer has been sidelined a few times recently, so perhaps he will be unavailable for the tilt. In any case, the 24-year-old is unlikely to see action in this one.

Once a standout goaltender at the University of Denver, Britain had a strong season in his first taste of professional hockey. Starting in the ECHL, Brittain went 14-11-1 with a 2.71 GAA and a .895 save percentage in 27 games. He then got the call up to AHL San Antonio, where he was excellent, going 4-2-1 with a 1.76 GAA and a .943 save percentage. Brittain projects as a future backup at the NHL level, but he could earn the larger portion of a timeshare in goal with Mike McKenna in the minors this season.
Brittain will likely remain at the University of Denver for his senior season in 2013-14, where he'll hope to improve on his Junior campaign. The goaltender saw his save-percentage decrease from .932 his sophomore year, to a rather pedestrian .907 in 2012-13. That same season also resulted in his GAA inflating to 2.95 from just 2.36 the year before. If Brittain can't turn things around in 2013-14, he'll have a hard time ever working working his way onto an NHL roster.
