RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2016-17

There was no outlook written for Brendan Shinnimin.

2015-16

Shinnimin made his NHL debut last year, appearing in 12 games for the Coyotes, picking up just a lone assist. The 24-year-old had better success in the AHL with Portland, scoring 22 goals and 47 points in 64 games. He will be among a group of players vying for spots on the Coyotes' bottom two lines, but given his age (and his two-way contract), he is likely to start the year with Portland.

2012-13

Shinnimin has spent the last four seasons in the WHL, posting over 80 points in three of them, including an eye-popping 134 points in 69 games in 2011-12 (to go along with 82 PIMs). Shinnimin will likely find a role with the Portland Pirates (AHL) this season, but adjust your expectations accordingly. If Shinnimin can produce at even a fraction of the pace he has in the WHL, he's an intrguing prospect for a team that sometimes struggles to put together a fluid, consistent offensive attack.
