2013
2012
McNeil, a defensive defenseman, made his professional debut in 2013. He played the majority of his time for Wheeling of the USHL, scoring six points (2G, 4A) and 90 PIMs in 44 games. McNeil then went pointless in three regular-season games with Wilkes-Barre and then tallied one assist in 12 postseason contests. He has good size at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, but projects as a player stronger in his own end as an offensive threat.
A sixth-round draft choice in 2010, McNeil signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Pittsburgh in May of 2012. He spent the past three seasons playing in the OHL, where he scored 23 points (7G, 16A) and registered 162 PIMs in 166 games. At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, McNeil is a defensive-oriented blueliner. He'll get his first taste of professional action with Wheeling (ECHL) or the Baby Pens in Wilkes-Barre (AHL).
