RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Brody Sutter.
Sutter tallied 12 goals and 13 assists for a total of 25 points in 45 games with AHL Charlotte last season. The 23-year-old center, who signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes in July, has desirable height at 6-foot-4, but needs to add some bulk to his 190-pound frame. He will get a chance to secure a roster spot with the Hurricanes in training camp, but will likely once again split time between the AHL and NHL in 2015-16. Overall, Sutter is described as an energy player who plays a solid, two-way game and occasionally chips in offensively. In other words, he’s not the kind of guy who projects as a terribly useful fantasy option in most formats.
Earning 60 points last season in the Major Junior ranks, Sutter inked a three-year, entry-level contract with the Hurricanes this summer. Though his raw abilities and hockey pedigree hint at a bright future in the NHL, the former Lethbridge Hurricane should be considered no more than an upside prospect for 2012-2013.
