RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014-15

There was no outlook written for Tommy Hughes.

2013-14

More known as a stay-at-home defenseman, Hughes registered a goal and 15 assists with a plus-17 rating in 67 games with the OHL's London Knights. The 6'2, 215-pound Ontario native joins a long list of talented Ranger defensemen after signing with the team in the spring of 2013. Although the undrafted Hughes consistently increased his offensive production (three goals, 29 assists, plus-55) in 169 games with the Knights, and is constantly referred to as a "late bloomer," he seemingly has a limited offensive upside. Either way, he is very unlikely to join his NHL parent club anytime in the next season or two and is expected to provide a defensive stability for the Rangers' minor league affiliates.

2012-13

Agreed to terms with the Rangers in April of 2013.
