RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2016-17

There was no outlook written for Patrick Wey.

2014-15

A veteran of one of college hockey’s most elite programs, Wey finally joined the professional ranks in 2012-2013 after a full career at Boston College. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound defenseman has the mobility and toughness to be a dependable shutdown defenseman at the NHL ranks, but as with their other young defenseman, the Capitals will take their time and develop Wey properly. In any case, his fantasy upside remains limited for the time being.

2013-14

Wey is a low ceiling prospect, who will likely start his pro career in Hersey (AHL) this season. Wey had a successful college career at Boston College but without much upside he should be left on waivers.
