Chubak signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Chubak had a 23-7-5 record, a 1.91 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage, leading Niagara University to the NCAA tournament in 2012-13. The 5-foot-11 Chubak bucks the trend toward bigger goalies, but the Flyers' scouts saw a lot of him and feel he's a good organizational fit. Chubak has an injury history, undergoing reconstructive knee surgery as a freshman and hip surgery before his sophomore season. He'll compete for the starting job in Adirondack this coming fall.
