RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

There was no outlook written for Eric Comrie.

Comrie spent the majority of last season with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL where he went 26-25-9 in 60 appearances. He finished the season with a 2.57 GAA and a save percentage of .925, and is projected to open the upcoming season as the backup netminder for AHL St. Johnís. He played two games with St. Johnís at the end of last season, but didnít perform well at all, giving up 12 goals on a mere 70 shots. At just 20, Comrie clearly has room for improvement and expectations should remain high for the former second-round pick. It will be a few years before he makes a significant impact in the NHL, so for now heís just a guy for fantasy owners to keep in the back of their mind for the future. It is worth noting, however, that the Jets do have a pair of perhaps even more intriguing young goalies in Michael Hutchinson and Connor Hellebuyck, which may ultimately slow Comrieís arrival to the next level.

With a lack of depth at goalie, Winnipeg picked up a quality goaltender with a lot of upside in Comrie. It will be fun to watch him develop but he is years away. Comrie gets a strong recommendation for keeper leagues.
