2013-14

The Canucks selected Cassels in the third round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Cassels (6-0, 178) is considered a solid two-way forward with his current strength lying more on the defensive side of the puck. The 18-year-old plans to return to his junior team to improve his offensive repertoire with hopes of developing into more than just a third- or fourth-line center. Cassels will need plenty of seasoning in juniors and the OHL over the next few years before getting a legit shot with the Canucks.
