The Capitals have selected Spinner of the USHL's Omaha Lancers with the 159th pick of the 2014 NHL Draft.

ANALYSIS
Spinner, a product of the Eden Prarier High School team in his native Minnesota, displays the offensive skill needed for a scoring role at the NHL level, but is still quite raw as a prospect. With several promising players ahead of him on the depth chart, he will have to overcome his defensive deficiencies if he is to make the jump, but has the skills needed to be a serviceable NHL player in the future. He had two goals and five points in 11 games in the USHL after transitioning from the high school ranks.
