Chicago released Bjork on Sunday from his professional tryout agreement and assigned him to AHL Rockford, per Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Bjork agreed to a one-year, AHL deal with the IceHogs in August after he didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Blackhawks in June. The 27-year-old forward picked up two goals, eight points and 15 shots on net in 14 games last season between Buffalo and Chicago.

Bjork could be traded again Monday with Chicago reportedly interested in acquiring him from Buffalo, per WGR Sports Radio 550.
ANALYSIS
It would be an extremely short stint in Buffalo for Bjork if the deal materializes after he was just brought in as part of the Taylor Hall deal. With just five points in 30 games with Boston this season, it's unlikely his productivity, or lack thereof, is the reason for the 24-year-old winger's value on the market, though he did just miss out on the 10-goal threshold in 2019-20.

Unable to secure a prominent role in Boston, Bjork was shipped to Buffalo in the deal that sent Taylor Hall to the Bruins in April. He was far more productive with the Sabres (six points in 15 games) than with Boston (two goals, five points in 30 games), which is to be expected given his increased role on a middling team. Bjork was a big scorer late in his college career at Notre Dame, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that he puts up solid offensive numbers next season in Buffalo, but it will almost certainly come with a horrendous plus-minus rating attached, making Bjork a risky fantasy play.
Bjork drew into 58 games with Boston last season, picking up 19 points while averaging 12:56 of ice time per contest. The Bruins signaled their commitment to the Mequon, Wisconsin native when they signed him to a three-year, $4.8 million contract extension in July, and he should be a full-time NHLer in 2020-21, but he'll be skating in a third-line role while receiving minimal power-play time, so he won't produce enough offense to warrant consideration in the vast majority of fantasy formats.
Bjork has progressed well since undergoing shoulder surgery in January and the 23-year-old is slated to be a full-go for training camp this fall. Before being shut down last season, the 2014 fifth-rounder saw action in 20 games with the Bruins, logging a goal and three points. He fared better at the AHL level, with 10 points in 13 contests for Providence. If he's truly past his shoulder woes, Bjork - who brings skating speed and quick hands to the table - has the necessary skill to make a run at a top-six role with the big club.
Bjork is bouncing back from February shoulder surgery but is expected to be ready for training camp. The 2014 fifth-rounder broke in with the B's last season, following a stellar three-year stint at Notre Dame. In the process, he logged four goals and 12 points in 30 games, while displaying flashes of speed, quick hands and a well-rounded game. At 6-foot, 186 pounds, the second-year pro will need to prove that he's up for the physical rigors of the NHL game before he secures a key role with the Bruins, but we're not betting against him. In fact, Bjork could make a run at a top-six role this season. Third-line duty could also be on tap, but either way, the 22-year-old has a chance to make a splash if he can stay healthy.
Selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Bjork is coming off a stellar effort in his junior year at Notre Dame, in which he logged 21 goals and 52 points in 39 games, helping the Fighting Irish earn a spot in the NCAA Frozen Four. While he wasn't a high-profile selected when the Bruins called his name, Bjork's impressive on-ice development since then has vaulted him into a position where he has a legit chance to secure a top-six role on the wing for the Bruins right out of the gate this coming season. The 21-year-old brings skating speed, quick hands and a well-rounded game to the table, but at 5-foot-11, 183 pounds, he'll need to prove that he's up for the physical rigors of the pro game. Based on his strong preseason, Bjork now appears poised to claim the Bruins' first line right wing spot on a trio with accomplished veterans Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.
