RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013-14

There was no outlook written for Alexei Yashin.

2006-07

Yashin came out of the gate hot, scoring 29 points in the first 27 games, but his production waned over the remainder of the season. He wound up scoring 66 points, tying Satan for the team lead. By the way, the 66 points was good for 60th in NHL overall scoring – not enough for one of the game’s 10 highest paid players. You can’t bank on him leapfrogging back into the realm of elite scorers. Expect around 60 points, but hope for more.

2005-06

His supporters say he has regressed offensively the last few years due to a lack of scoring linemates. Well, the Isles signed Miroslav Satan to be his wing man this year, and he seemed extremely happy with the move. As well, the Isles removed some of the clubhouse personalities that were rumored to have clashed with Alexei (Adrian Aucoin, Mike Peca), so this is the year for Yashin to prove his worth. We’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, and say he’ll bounce back with a 30 goal, 80 point season.
