Allen is the kind of low-cost, hard-working player that fits today's NHL because of salary-cap requirements. His fantasy value is negligible. He spent most of last year as the Bruins' #7 or #8 d-man and that probably won't change this season.

A former standout in the NCAA, Allen has disappointed as a pro. The former Boston College phenom was drafted by the Bruins No. 52 overall in 1998 and was dealt to Edmonton for Sean Brown in 2002. After a lot of travel over the past four years, Allen is back where he started and still looking to find playing time in the NHL. Ignore him come draft day.
